House of the 19th century Recovered keeping the original design and architecture, but with all the comforts of today. It has an outdoor patio that is common to the building, where you can find 2 little houses once used by the former owners to spend the summer while the noble spaces of the house were leased to vacationers.
The city of Figueira da Foz was a famous seaside resort from the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, having been described by Portuguese authors as Ramalho Ortigão and Jorge de Sena.
The city has a great history related to the fishing and salting of Cod which can be seen with a visit to the Sea Museum, 900 m from the house and in the salt flats / Ecomuseum do Sal, with the artisanal production of sea salt, 13 km from the House.
The city maintains its characteristic of the aristocratic seaside resort, through the Casino Oceano building, one of the oldest in the Iberian Peninsula, the building of the Grande Hotel and the Tennis Club, and the beautiful houses of the Bairro Novo.
It has an excellent Archeology Museum.
Various types of outdoor sports can be practiced in the city, including water sports.
About 45 km away is the beautiful city of Coimbra with its splendid University, where you can visit the "Pátio das Escolas", the Joanina Library, the Science Museum with laboratory pieces from the 14th century manufactured by Italian artisans and the beautiful botanical garden which supported the medical and pharmacy faculties in the production of medicines.
Figueira da Foz is about 45 min drive from Leiria, 1 hour from the Monastery of Batalha and 1 hour and 15 min from the Monastery of Alcobaça.
It is still 45 min from Aveiro
You can reach the accommodation by public transport, from Lisbon or Porto.
