São Vicente is a municipality located in the north of Madeira Island. It has a pleasant and picturesque village located in one of the most beautiful valleys in Madeira. About 10 minutes away, on foot, and 3 minutes if you choose to go by car, you will find the famous São Vicente Caves, discovered in 1885. These are the best underground lava channels found in Madeira and result from an eruption that occurred about [Hidden, not allowed] years ago. On site you can enjoy a guided tour. In the village you can also visit the mother church dedicated to São Vicente and built in the 17th century. The ceiling is made up of magnificent paintings, one of which shows São Vicente blessing the village.
