São Vicente is a municipality located in the north of Madeira Island. It has a pleasant and picturesque village that is in one of the most beautiful valleys in Madeira. About 10 minutes on foot and 3 minutes, if you choose to go by car, you will find the famous São Vicente Caves, discovered in 1885. These are the best underground lava channels found in Madeira and result from an eruption that occurred around 400,000 years ago. On site, you can enjoy a guided tour. In the village, you can also visit the main church dedicated to São Vicente and built in the 17th century. The ceiling consists of magnificent paintings, in one of which you can see São Vicente blessing the village. You can visit the Cultural Promotion Center, where there are numerous exhibitions and the Garden of Indigenous Plants. The picturesque Vila São Vicente has several free parking spaces and paid indoor parking. There is a plaza with permanent taxis. If you choose public transport, there are several careers run by the company Rodoeste. 400 meters from the hotel, you will find the sea and the famous "Calhau de São Vicente", with several restaurants and other shops.
